Aretha Louise Franklin known as "The Queen of Soul" was born in March 25, 1942 in Memhpis, Tennesse. She is a well known American Rhythm and Blues singer, soul singer, pianist and songwriter. Aretha Franklin is known for her grammy winning soul, jazz, pop, blues and gospel recordings. The site is titled after the "So Damn Happy" album for which Aretha Flanklin won the "Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance" Grammy in 2004 for the song "Wonderful". Aretha has won numerous awards for her music, including 21 Grammy Awards, was the first women in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, received The national Medal of Arts, she was named #9 greatest artist of all time and 'Greatest Singer Of All Time' according to the Rolling Stone Magazine, according to BillBoard Magazine Aretha Franklin ranks #19 on the "Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists" and dozens of other awards and acomplishments. "Respect" is one of the most well known of her recordings, it features up-beat style with catchy lyrics.
